This historical favorite model revived for the modern day was based on the theme of "back to basics" to commemorate the 35th anniversary of G-SHOCK in 2018.
The DW-5700C, first created in 1987, is a basic model with a round bezel from the early days of G-SHOCK, which, though never released in Japan, gained legendary status for its worldwide popularity, and was even worn by famous musicians. This model, reissued many times in the past, is now making a full comeback.
The original design has been faithfully reproduced, right down to the color of the logo. In addition to the stopwatch and timer features of the basic model, it also has practical functions such as an EL backlight.
This back-to-basics model from the highly popular basic-model 5700 series has seen an inevitable revival alongside the square-faced 5600 series.
